Who we are

VantageHound LLC (“VantageHound”, “we”) runs Pointer, a marketing service for home-services contractors. We mail homeowners on a contractor's behalf, and we book the appointment when a homeowner responds. This page covers the two groups of people we hold data about: homeowners who receive our mail, and the contractors (installers) we work with or approach.

What we collect

• Opt-outs. The address (and, if you give it, the email or phone) you submit at /opt-out, so we can keep you off future mailings.
• Scans and page views on mailed pieces. Each piece carries a QR code and a short link tied to that address. When it is scanned or visited we record the code, the time, and ordinary web-request data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed).
• Appointment bookings and calls. The name, address, phone number, email and time slot you give when you book with the contractor through our page, and the caller number and time of calls to the tracked phone number on the piece.
• Contractor business data. Business name, licence numbers, service area, principals, contact details and other information about installers, harvested from their public websites and public records, plus what an installer tells us when they claim a territory (contact and billing details; card details are held by our payment processor, not by us).

Where the mailing list comes from

Mailing lists are built from public parcel and permit records. We do not buy consumer person-lists, and we do not sell or share one. Mail is addressed to Current Resident; the claims on the piece are backed by the public record for that property.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or share consumer person-lists with anyone, including the contractor.
• We do not contact a homeowner first by phone, text or email. All follow-up is homeowner-initiated: you scan, visit or call.
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Cookies are used only to keep an installer signed in.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us a mobile number when you book, or when you set up an installer account, we send text messages about that appointment or account only: confirmations, time changes and alerts. If you call the tracked number on a mailed piece and we cannot answer, we send one text to the number you called from with a link to book; nothing further unless you reply or book. We never send marketing texts. Message frequency varies with your bookings; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

Sharing

A booking is passed to the one contractor holding your territory so they can keep the appointment. Mail is printed and posted through a licensed mail house, and payments are processed by our payment processor; both receive only what they need to do that job. In future waves, mailing addresses may be shared with advertising platforms for audience matching, so the same homes can be reached online alongside the mail; opted-out addresses are excluded. We disclose data when the law requires it.

Retention

Opt-out records are kept for as long as we mail, so the suppression keeps working. Scan, page-view and booking records are kept while the territory's campaigns run and through the audit window that follows (closes are reconciled against public permits, which can post months after the job), then deleted or reduced to aggregate counts. Contractor business data is refreshed from public sources and kept while it is current or the relationship is active.

Your choices

To stop receiving our mail, use /opt-out. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email privacy@vantagehound.com. We answer within 30 days. Installers can also reach the operator through the same address.

Governing law and changes

VantageHound LLC is an Idaho limited liability company and this policy is governed by the laws of Idaho, the same state named in our installer agreement. Changes are posted here with a new date; material changes are also emailed to installers with an active territory.
